Stafford Democratic Committee

Dear Ms. Nutting,
I just wanted to thank you for the lovely performance of your halau, Ke Anuenue Punahele, at our Stafford Democratic Committee Luau last night. The ladies did a superb job and their beautiful dancing won rave reviews from our group, which included many dignitaries such as Virginia’s Lt. Governor Tim Kaine, Senator Edd Houck of Spotsylvania, Stafford County Supervisors Kandy Hilliard and Gary Pash, Spotsylvania County Clerk of the Court Paul Metzger, and former Stafford County School Board members Noreen Crowley and David Kerr. We were all delighted to see the traditional Hawaiian and Tahitian dance style presented with such lovely grace and poise. I’ve attached some pictures for you. Please feel free to use any of them on your website, etc.
Thank you again for bringing some “island magic” to our event.

Cherry,
I wanted to say thank you for all your effort to find dancers
for my daughters birthday party - June 12, 2004. Leslie and Grace were
absolutely wonderful, and put on a great show. Shelby and her friends
were fascinated and the dancers were the hit of the party! Thank you
again, I know you really scrambled and worked hard at rescheduling, and I wanted you to know how much I appreciated all your efforts. Have a wonderful summer!

Cherry,

I just wanted to say again....thank you! You really added something special to my friend's shower - March 20, 2004. Everyone was so surprised and touched by the performance and all your lovely words. It was great working with you. Thanks for sharing part of your culture with my family and all the guests. I think everyone went home with an appreciation of Hawaii and its lush culture. Let me know if you ever need me as a reference, I'd be happy to help. I will also send you some pictures of the shower, if you'd like. Please, tell your group thanks.

Sue C.:

Hi! I saw you perform at Borders in Fredericksburg. I spent 3 years in Hawaii in the early 90's. My youngest was born there. While I lived there, I taught preschool in Kailua. We taught the Hawaiian Alphabet. We had a storybook and tape that sang each letter and then gave a word to help them remember. I am hoping you can help me to remember the name of the book. I would like to purchase it for my home library. Something I put off doing while in Hawaii. Thanks again for a wonderful performance.

The Army show:

I'm so glad that I attended the Asian Pacific week celebration. I have been looking for a halau that has a lot of "aloha" and I found it in your ladies. I'm so glad that you have introduced our culture to the Military. I find it appalling that when they go to other countries such as Korea, Japan, Spain and Germany, they are given orientation about the customs, culture and language but when they are sent to Hawaii, they are not briefed on our culture, history and language. It was so beautiful to see your ladies comfortable answer all the historical and cultural questions. I'll keep in touch!

Caressa Bolden (Sound off Journalist):

I am a journalist with Sound off! I was privileged to enjoy your performance this afternoon. I was unable to talk with you after the performance, therefore, I couldn't ask the question that I wanted to help complete my article. I wanted to know: Are you the owner of the group, how long has the group been performing, please provide me a list of the dance numbers that were perform with the meaning of the songs. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

Timonthy Solinger (US Army):

Just wanted to drop a short note to say Thank you again to you and the group. The event went great. Everyone is telling how much they enjoyed the program. Hope you made it to your next performance on time. Again Thanks a lot for a great and professional show.

Mr. Stone:

Thank you for demonstrating how to do yarn and silk leis. The kids enjoyed it! I appreciate that you were prepared with the kits and the type written interactions for the participants to bring home. We'll call you for the next cultural craft demonstration.

Selwyn Cave (US Navy):

Ms. Nutting, your ladies are wonderful! They were on time and very professional. I really enjoyed this show a lot more than last year. Please bring more children to dance at our next event.

Mr. Mok - AMC:

The dance was wonderful, we need to do this every year. We'll keep in touch!
